Tapovan Manovikas Vidyalaya
A Unique Initiative
As we walk along the road, we often come across people with mental disabilities who are in a pitiful state. Our hearts fill with compassion and sympathy for these unknown individuals. We feel a deep sense of empathy towards them. In reality, these individuals do not need our sympathy or pity, but rather our help and support. They require our dedicated efforts, patience, and selfless service. Our support can help them become an integral part of society, and empower them to become independent and self-sufficient. Tapovan Manovikas Vidyalaya was established with this very mission. Today, it celebrates its silver jubilee, having begun its journey on March 17, 1991, with just six children with mental disabilities. Two trainers had also joined the institution at that time. The founders of Tapovan had a dream, a dream that seemed as fragile as a soap bubble. It was beautiful, attractive, and captivating, but its fragility was a concern. The journey was not easy, with numerous challenges and obstacles along the way. However, with the support and cooperation of the people, the dream began to take shape.
Today, the world can see the reality of that dream. The then District Collector and Chairman of the Nagar Vikas Nyas, Shri S.K. Galundia, understood the efforts of Tapovan and provided land in Jawahar Nagar for the education and training of children with mental disabilities. The then Minister of Rajasthan Government, Harishankar Bhawra, Kundan Lal Miglani, Additional District Collector Vikas Lalit Mehra, Vaidya Rameshwar Dutt Sharma, Swami Brahmadev, and MLA Professor Kedarnath Sharma, along with other prominent citizens of the city, laid the foundation stone of the building. The foundation of the Pranyas building was laid by Swami Kalyan Dev Ji Maharaj.
Today, Tapovan Manovikas Vidyalaya is a beacon of hope for children with mental disabilities. It has become a symbol of inspiration and motivation for the people of the city. The institution has not only provided education and training to these children but has also empowered them to become independent and self-sufficient. The institution has also provided vocational training to the children, enabling them to become employable. The children have also been encouraged to participate in cultural and sports activities, which has helped to build their confidence and self-esteem. Tapovan Manovikas Vidyalaya is a shining example of what can be achieved with dedication, hard work, and a commitment to empowering children with mental disabilities. It is a testament to the power of human spirit and the impact that one institution can have on the lives of countless individuals.
